Chocolate walnut brownies
Brownies with chocolate chips are the most classic and perhaps the best brownies: They are super simple to prepare, soft and tender inside, crunchy on top and around the edges. They are perfect!

The dose of walnuts and the coffee in these brownies add an extra explosion of flavors.
Homemade Chocolate Walnut Brownies
Ingredients
- 200 g Chocolate (+60% cocoa)
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 cup Brown sugar
- 125 g all-purpose flour
- 3 medium eggs
- 3 tbsp cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon instant espresso (Or 3 teaspoons of a normal coffee)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- pinch of salt
- chocolate chips (to your taste)
- walnuts (you can use pecans or hazelnut instead)
Instructions
- Cut the chocolate into pieces, put it in a large microwave-safe bowl with the butter also cut into pieces. Melt for 1 minute 30 minutes while smoothing with a whisk.
- In another bowl whisk the eggs, sugar, vanilla, and coffee until you obtain a very frothy mixture.Then add the chocolate mixture gradually while whisking.
- Then add salt and flour. Mix until you get a homogeneous mixture.
- Coarsely chop the walnuts, and add them with the chocolate chips to the preparation.
- Pour into a square buttered mold (about 20cm) and sprinkle with the nuts you have reserved.
- Bake for 30 minutes in an oven preheated to 170 ° C
How to store chocolate walnut brownies
If you manage to hide a few brownies, you can store them in the kitchen in an airtight box where they can last up to 5 days.
These brownies are also freezer-friendly. They keep perfectly well in an airtight box and also freeze very well in a ziplock bag.
Make sure to take them out from the freezer a few minutes before tasting so that they regain their complete softness.
